how safe it is has nothing to do with how much boost it is running.

Put it on a dyno and get someone to check AFRs, timing, knock.

Kato the nutter ran 29psi I think on his vf34 on a stock WRX engine.

Hey dude,
By any chance is it dark metallic blue with the darker 03 wrx wheels?
If yes, it's my old car and I had Allstar Garage do the work on it, along with the Verso ECU reflash and the tune is safe along with the mods with it..

If not the same car then I cant comment but 20psi is the max I would want to go on a vf34/ej205 combo for safety..

With the right supporting mods 20 psi can easily be done pushing to 22. Depends how long you want the vf34 to last. Cheaper to throw them away then getting them rebuilt anyway.

I believe from what im told they are inefficient to service but rebuildable.

Smash in 2 bar. Done.

In all reality 'boost' is not the tune. 1 bar can be dangerous with the incorrect tune, so don't just go winding in boost without the fuel etc to compensate.

In all reality, once you start going past 1.5/6 bar you start to just blow hot air, so you don't get the most gains in power per psi boost your are upping it (if interested look at how the efficiency curves of the compressor map drop off significantly as you smash more boost in).

20-22 PSI would not shorthen the life of a VF34, would it?
