Really? Dang. I've heard a lot that they wanted to get things for variable exhausts, but never read anything concrete to say they were illegal.

Either way, I think you would be silly to just change it next to a cop. The main reason I had one was to not annoy the hell out of everyone in my street or when visiting people.

There is a lot of talk around the forums that cars are being defected for having these on, and a lot of people are having problems with the butterfly jamming after a period of use !
Fox if I was you I would be swapping to an Oval muffler so you run a bit quieter with out the need for the silencer - have a look at the different mufflers on cars at Rexpo and see what sounds good to you and go from there.

+1 for RMS ..
(+1 for anything where leigh hynes is involved imo)

saw a few of his systems for his rally car at his pits in nannup the other weekend at ARC, after a quick chat on the phone 2day for details, will be seeing him compete this weekend in WARC

after that and the work he is doing on reviving the dodgy crap that was on my car when i bought it he has my complete confidence - top notch job, high quality parts and very nice and easy to deal with

for people that are budget minded i would recommend x-force or magnaflow oval barrel mufflers (twin tip for a little more noise), for someone looking for a full custom system i would recommend RMS/Leigh Hynes, for the people that want pure performance a Jasma complete bolt on system (5zigen, Fujitsubo etc) would be the way to go - expensive but you get what you pay for

personally ... i would go a mild steel RMS system with a magnaflow twin tip oval barrel on the end, but thats just my budgeterformance:shop ratio preference lol
