Removing front disc backing plate ?
Am doing front pads and was going to remove front dust/heat shields I assume more heat will be transfered to CV boots and tierod ends so is it worth while ? also front caliper mounting bolts torque spec 65 ft lbs ?

Hey Deano,
Changed mine yesterday ready for Barbs!! Dont forget to pump the brake pedal a couple of times after you finished as the first one goes to the floor and you dont want that reversing out of the driveway....

Dean... it is wise to put some heat wrap around the tie rod ends, but that's really all you need to worry about.
Front caliper bolts...toight...

Yep have ripped them off, looks to me that on track it will help let some of the heat out.

Manual says 80Nm for 2 pots and 4pots mounting bolts. That's 59ft/lbs
And if anyone is interested its 155Nm for Brembos. That's quite a lot higher than I expected

I am running 326mm DBA4000's without the dust shields .. more air flow Hasn't had a problem at all.
When i put Brembo's on the WRX shields wouldn't fit obviously. |
