Default Changing Rear Diff MY99

hey everyone

i have been told that my R160 rear diff is going and i was wondering how hard is it to change the rear diff?

Can anyone help me inregards to any websites that have any instructions or how to's at all??

Easy enough.

remove cat back exhaust
unbolt tailshaft from diff pinion
Use a lever to pop the drive shaft clips.
Unbolt the diff and lower it. Shafts will slide out as the diff lowers


Why do you think its going though? My99 3.54 rear diffs aren't known to die easily.

Usually the viscous lsd will die, however i have killed an R160 on two occasions so anything is possible.

the bearing are going on the front of the rear diff. so by the time you get the bearings for a rebuild it would just be easier to put a low K 2nd hand diff in it.
