Default Sump and Header Installation

I figured id stop bumping my wanted thread and make a new one in the mechanical section where it belongs . I will be taking pictures and writing up steps so hopfully i can get a DIY process out of this however i have not attempted anything to do with headers. I did however put my 3" TBE exhaust on myself.

I'm wondering, is there is a DIY floating around the net with this situation covered? If not, thats fine is there any trickey items i should look out for other then the obvious bastard tight bolts that happen to anything that heats up and cools down alot?

I spose the real question is, i just rang subaru and they reckon they use a tube that is priced at $205 called 3 bond to seal the sump to the engine......not even a gasket just a sealant....for $205. Is this a special sealant that i cannot substitute with anything else? Because its about to cost more then my god damn sump assembly all together?

Thanks,

Eric

There is a loctite adhesive that will do the same job. It's grey in colour and is available at most auto stores.

With a little bit of research ive come across a fairly simple installation guide of the headers, however they are for Borla headers. Id assume its a fairly simular process for anyone intrested. Only thing id change is the use of old gaskets to the use of new gaskets.
