Which sway bar links?
I'm looking at buying a 22mm adjustable rear sway bar for my 06 WRX and there are a couple of options on the links...
$149 OR $90 Whats the difference in the real world and why would I need to buy the alloy ones over the steel ones? Also I only have front + rear strut braces so far so how is the car going to handle with just a rear sway bar? Its a daily driver covering 30,000KM a year plus a trackday once a month-ish, the missus drives it a few times a week to. Would something a bit more subtle like an anti lift kit be a better spend of money than the sway bar? |

Do a 24mm whiteline adjustible rear sway bar with the heavy duty links.
Put it on soft until you upgrade the front sway bar (22mm). This will avoid you having to change the rear bar later on down the track. Rear sway and a good alignment will make your car more oversteery than the factory understeer settings. Great fun!

+1 as Kato said for 24mm adjustable and think of the end links as a good investment. Also have a look under your car and see what the stock bar and links look like and you will be convinced.
This is a great bang for your buck mod. Is your car lowered considerably?

Car is completely stock standard.
I have seen the stock rubber / plastic items...I doubt the stock sway bars even move with those things on them! So would a 24mm bar on its softest setting be equivalent to say a 22mm bar on its hardest? I had a read of the WRX on rails artical done a few years back by Autospeed and they reckoned that the 22mm item set on hard was to twitchy until they fitted the front one along with ALK and rear camber bolts. |

I had the 22mm rear sway + hd links as my first suspension mod.
Loved it to bits... Car would slide when thrown into a corner at AHG instead of chugging through in understeer. Hated it when I wanted to upgrade to a front 22mm sway as it brought the car back to neutral/understeer. Had I had the adjustable whiteline I could have cranked it to harder and been happy. Alternatevely, go and get the Cusco sways... As that is what I ended up swapping all mine out to.

If you're going to get Cusco, get the matching Cusco links.
My Whiteline 24mm bar and Whiteline ally links rubbed on each other until ASG spaced them out with washers during my last service... Australian made at its finest. |
