problem with coolant colour?
hey everyone
I was just checking the fuild levels on my car and i noticed that the colour of my coolant has gone brown (see pic below). I was wondering i know u can get red coolant as well but to me it looks more brown than red. Also i saw that oil was leaking from a hose which goes from my turbo to the header tank, But i thought that only coolant goes into the header tank and not oil? (see pics below) It could be nothing but i am just wondering is there oil getting into my coolant then through my radiator? if so is the turbo knackered? Thanks for your help Tim |

If oil was in your coolant it would go all milky and frothy with bubbles of oil floating at the surface.
Do you know what brand and type of coolant you have in there? There are some coolants that change colour to let you know its time to change it. If you intend on changing the coolant, make sure to flush the old stuff out completely. You shouldnt mix different brands of coolant.
