You can actually buy plumb back adaptors for ssqv's, like http://www.hardtuned.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=308409 that way you can always just swap it over in a matter of minutes
Depending on your inlet tract setup you can get a great deal of perfectly legal noise out of plumb back BOVs and you shouldnt have any problems getting a permit for them |
...but terrible for your turbo - i reckon ;))...
Shhhh... don't say that in front of the Eastern states RS boys. They will hunt you down and water-board you to convince otherwise!! ;) |
or be a fully sickunt like me and don't run a bov at all
turbine flutter is bliss (sound wise, but terrible for your turbo - i reckon ;)). and i don't think you can get yellowed for not having one.
If the car comes with one as stock, then you will get yellowed for running without one. |

haha
i have a stock 04 wrx bov if you want it. |
For the cost of constantly going through the pits..(inspection fee + time + pissed off).. its not worth it .. IMO..
Also it might depend on the cops patrolling the areas you frequent.. if they are totally anal or relaxed about it.. Better off saving the $$ and putting it in mods that really make the difference. |
