Default Radiator hose split open

Hey guys,

On the way home from work yesterday I heard a short whine noise coming from the engine bay, but it was that quick that I put it down to a bit of water getting on the belts. Car was driving normally and at normal temp etc.

When I got home, I had a look and there was a very small slit in the top radiator hose, pissing out everywhere.

Today I have taken off the hose etc, and I am trying to fit a hose kit I bought off another member yonks ago. Had some fitment issues, and now that it is fitted, it looks 'bent' and has obviously lost some internal diameter.

I have a good used genuine top hose that I can whack on there instead, or is this fitment ok???

I had same issue with my hose kit.
Lay old hose on top and trim to length.
from memory I think I took around 10mm off each end.

I took some off the 'engine' end of the hose;

Will go see if lopping a bit off the other end helps...

Ok, have trimmed it quite a bit, and it looks ok.
Cheers guys!

I just hope it stays on there! Wasnt as fat as the stock part, so wouldnt slide up the outlet as far...
