habbit of mine for 'stock' cars, unless the filter is over 30,000km or so old, and you havent been pumping concrete for oil, it will still be fine. considering the longer the filter is in use, the better the micron of filtering, obviously until it gets 'clogged' but you'd need to be running water/coolant through the oil at the same time to get it really chocked up with rust etc.

considering its a bunky, an oil filter is what- near $30 or so, plus $40 worth of 10w40/$20 worth of 20w50, the NA motors will go on forever and a day, they are practically indestructible. think of the savings!

hypothetically, i think subaru charged me over $20 for a filter+washer last time i checked.

i dont change the sump plug washer either. few more newts on the spanner fixes the leak every time

EJ20 filters are about $15 with sump plug washer!

Was only going to do it cos its about another $15 on top of the price

But yeah I see what you're getting at... might just smash in $19 Fuchs 20W50 and be done with it
