thanks for the feedback guys, i'll definately give petrol a go, my original intention is that i'll be porting the inlets to my intercooler, so i'm expecting some aluminium dust and filings to find their way back into the core, so i'm looking to port the hell out of it, then wash all the sediment out as cleanly as possible- will see how i go anyhow
