I have been running various 225/40/18's on 18x8's for about 3 years now. I only had scrub issues on the front under hard cornering when the car was illegally low. Now that I have the lowest point of the car at 102mm (under ALK), there hasnt been an issue. Ride is arguably a bit more forgiving in a 40, versus 35, however im sure its negligible.

225's are actually slightly more expensive than 235's, but again, difference is minimal.

I think I will go the 225/35's, what is the minimum load rating required to be legal?

Also been made aware that tyres in Aust must be DOT rated or the like!!

I think its 89U or 91U
All tyres these days a V speed rated so that parts fine.
