Default SUSPENSION : How low can you go???

Hi guys, this is my first ever post, so bear with me.
I have just purchased a 2000 model Evo 4 clubspec and have plans to put 18" CSA Motorvator Black rims on it. I have had a look around for springs and most are 35mm and within my price range (around $250 set of 4). I was wondering if there are springs available that lower around 50mm for less than $300. Do you recommend 50mm or will this cause problems with wheels rubbing in arches etc. Please help........

I believe Bakks had some 60mm custom lowered springs, he might be able to point you in the right direction....but with standard shocks it will ride like you have concrete in them - be sure to wear a mouth guard.

The custom springs I had were meant to be 75 mm or so I think. They were pretty comfy actually, and cost about $400. Otherwise you can get Kings Super Low (50 mm) or Ultra Low (about 60 mm) for about $250 maybe, if you can get a trade account and or shop around and fit yourself.

I will tell you how low Bakks springs go. I'll be installing them in my car shortly.

I'll tell you. They went about 2.5 inches lower, not as low as they were meant to.

That should be low enough - Can't afford to replace mufflers every day of the week

Sound like the king springs may be the way to go. I don't want it mega low because it is my everyday family car, and they are within my budget. Has anyone used these springs and could give me some feedback. Standard shocks yes/no etc.....

Cheers.

Kings were OK, but they killed the stock shocks (which were already old) fairly quick. Made the ride pretty harsh. I never tried the kings with better aftermarket shocks, but if it is a family car you may want to invest a lil bit more to keep everyone happy with the ride comfort factor.

See what other options folks have tried I guess....
