Hey,
have a 99 WRX with a three inch s/s x-force exhaust with over the top 6 inch muffler thing with 4.5 inch tip. The standard exhaust came with a resonator. Any idea's on how I can quieten the exhaust down without restricting air flow/performance. Have rung around a few places but no-one has any real idea. Any help would be gladly appreciated before I go deaf!

use anti aging cream

get louder stereo

or put a couple of resonators in line which should fix ur problem. thye dont really create a flow resitriction

yeah more resonators....or u could get a silencer for the cannon....this will restrict air flow tho.

have a gonzo silencer on my 3" TBE, much quieter these days...... very happy

Get a gonzo pipe, its basically a resonator
Its usually used on the rotary (eg mazdas), drops db down by around 5-10db depending on your car
alternatively, change to an oval muffler with a smaller diameter

do you want to quieten it down or stop the cabin drone?

Good question tuna, prefer to get rid of cabin drone. bottom end reverberates and that's part of the prob. another resonator could be the answer, but where to put it. there is already one just after the cat. The car is lowered 2 inches and I scrap the bottom at some car parks etc. How much is sound deadening? Thanks for the help
