Default TurboSmart manual boost control

Has anyone has fitted a Turbosmart manual gated boost controler to a MY99/00 WRX with any positive results? I would like to put a few urban myths to rest before I fit one to my ride. The car is stock apart from a 3" SS turbo back exhaust with a high flow cat. The airbox resonator has been removed and a K&N panel filter fitted to the stock airbox. I've searched through several threads and found some pretty conflicting answers. I will be fitting a fuel cut defender at the same time and my question is this. The fcd Tee's in below the Map sensor so does the std 3 way solenoid between the MAP sensor and the pressure scource remain plumbed in? Also, Turbosmart say that there should be no other take off in the line between the boost scource and the waste gate actuator, my car has the solenoid fed from an existing Tee in this line which is the stock configuration. See pictures. Any advice is much appreciated.
