Jerky ride!

Hey people,

I dont know what this is, but the car only really likes to accelerate or deccelerate, not travel at a constant speed/RPM.

When i try to maintain a certain speed, as i move the accelerator to a constant position the car seems to be quite jerky. Not a comfortable ride at all.

Can any one point out some ideas why this would happen.

Cheers.

Lloyd

does the car have anti-lag??? sounds like you are driving with AL on.

pommyjones 24-06-2010 01:36 PM

im a noob with turbos....
I dont know what anti-lag is, well just wikipedia'd it and now i know what it is. I dont know what to look for really?

Do you know what ecu you have?

Also having read your intro thread, the car had suffered water ingestion, so the history of the engine is somewhat morbid. Might need a subaru specialist to give it a once over.

no i dont know which ecu i have. would it help if i found that out?

If as Scary mentions you're driving with antilag on, yes. There would be a switch to engage it, usually using the foglight switch or in that panel. But its hard to know really. My advice, take it to a subi specialist.

just went for a quick drive, switching on and off the fog light switches...no difference. hmm

In the time you went for a quick drive pushing random buttons, you could have seen a Subaru specialist workshop and had them tell you exactly what is going on.

We can only guess on here without seeing the car.

If you are in Rivervale, you have RMS and STechnic around the corner from you (I would see Doug at STechnic myself).

ah sweet will probably go next week. im skint broke and dont wanan end up with no moneys to pay for repair/fixing.

Thanks KATO

I'd say the water ingestion wouldn't have helped too much.. get it checked out by a workshop.
