Cold Air Induction
I have a pod filter fitted to my car, but it has no ducted cod air feed. I noticed that underneth the front indicator there is an air intake, does anyone know of any products/home made jobbies that will duct cold air up to the air filter.
Chase them few extra horses!!! ;) |
go to bunnings and grab those shiny air con ducts
|
Do they do them small enough? Or are you just taking the piss!!! :p
|
get the smallest one mate.... its around 4" i think
i have this setup on my ride... u might wanna remove your driver's side fog lamp to get more cool air |
Michael South makes them.
try http://www.users.bigpond.net.au/msgofast/coldair.html This design of intake is a bit more susceptible to water getting into the motor which is not a good thing. |
Ive been told that you need to retune (very mildy) (EJ20) if you put CAI/pod on?? Is this correct?? Apparently they run a bit lean??
|
for CAI, yes ull need a retune
but for air duct feeding cold air into your pod, dont think ull need a retune |
mmmmm does that mean i can stic a POD in place of the stock box and not have to tune? But if i use proper thermo plastic CAI kit to duct the POD down near the guard, i will have to tune?
|
it depends whether u run stock ecu or aftermarket one
i used to run pod filter on stock ecu without any probs... if u have after market one then ull need a retune after swapping your airbox with pod if u get the proper CAI, say mrt or aps or whatever, ull need a retune i guess |
Cheers
Thanx very much-sorry to high jack the thread-should have read earlier pages. Im bored today(supposed to be sick from work with the flu :icon_puke ) so might go have a look at some air filters
Cheers Chris |
