i tried to get my defi guages installed at mms on monday morning, not happy at all, the guy seemed hell blunt and would not give me any time to discuss certain things, just looked hell down on me and seemed liek he wanted me out of his face as soon as possible "we are not even slightly intrested about doing that sort of job here" thats a quote, about installing my aps dr525 intercooler. So no work was done, and i will nto be going back there..

i needed to get that off my chest

is it tru the wrx internalls can only handle 200 hp at the wheels?

I've a EJ205 which has ~260 at the wheels for several years realiably! (and still am) So no. When you start getting around 280-300 is heading into forgies/207 territory more so.

i had a gearbox whining bearing (thrust bearing if i remember correctly) msdiagnosed as a diff problem...same sort of "not interested, I'm too busy" attitude so i left and let ASG sort it out

better off installing the gauges yourself will save $$ and probably do a lot better job in the end, plenty of DIY's for this on the net and it's a pretty easy job.

I think you need to appreciate that mms is a race rally shop first, customer cars second kind of place. This workshop debate never ends, but if i was you i would get a clue before i even go to a workshop to get work done. The fact you need to ask if wrx internals can only handle 200 hp indicates that you dont know alot about the cars. I'll be the first to admit i dont know anywhere near close to everything about these cars but if i was steve or whoever you spoke to at mms i would get pretty sick and tired of people without a clue coming in or ringing up telling them they want this, this and this.

If they dont want the work and cant fit you in take you're car to ASG or any one of the numerous capable shops around Perth who dont have race rally commitments. Don't have a bitch about it. MMS have their hands full with builds atm one of them being mine so quit wasting their time asking silly questions so they can get back to finishing my car

They are on a deadline to get WRXRW out the door so it can have its harness wired up. Just read the first post in that thread to get an idea of the $$$ spent on that car, that's been in mms for 8 years. Unfortunately the big boys and the big dollars get priority in this game, i've waited 5 months to get my build going...that's life.
