Default 96 rx impreza cylinder head

im driving along at 20ks and i hear pop! i look under my engine bay and what do i see my spark plug lead hanging in my engine bay with the spark plug in it :S:S no more thread in the cylinder head

just wondering what is the best way to go about this!
can i get it fixed
how much would a second hand cylinder head cost

just want some input thanks guys

You can buy tapers 'also known as sleeves', for them, but cross your fingers you don't get any shiny bits inside the engine

Interested to know how this happened, was said spark plug cross threaded when it was put in?

you'd probably pick up a whole nother motor for $1-200

they can be successfully helicoiled or better still a threaded insert fitted with the engine still in the car.

just make sure that you have lots of sticky grease on the tap when cutting the oversize thread. the grease will hold most of the cuttings, just take your time doing it and keep cleaning and re-greasing the tap every couple of turns when rethreading.
