GD motor into GC shell?

This is quite a simple question really....for someone that has the knowledge.

as above, is this possible without too much messing around? I wont be doing the work myself.

I trashed my 02 STi and a smick '00 GC shell has come up. Is it possible to do a motor swap? ie 02 motor into 00 body?

Any info would be appreciated

engine will bolt straight in. only issue will be if you want to run the avcs you will need a different computer and to run a couple of wires. if you dont want to run the avcs then you need to changes the pulleys.

if you swap the gearbox over aswell you need to get a different tailshaft etc.

both swaps have been done a million times and are a great upgrade.

Because he already has an EJ207, 6 speed, brembos etc all of which he has in his possession. Why fork out money to build an engine which it seems not many think is of any benefit over a factory forged item? Unless it was to be stroked of course and even then 99% of people recommend an EJ207 for simplicity/cost.

Well that explains it.. but still its going to be a head ache converting.. the gc rolling shell has its goodies like the 207 with Je pistons and eagle rods, brembos not 6speed but straight cuts etc etc then again its his choice..

Sounds like you know the shell he's looking at getting. If it has all that stuff well yeah, put the 6MT in then sell the straight cut box and his 02 STI motor for profits.... I read it that he'd just found a bare/minimalist shell he could swap everything into.

Why do this ? I think there is a misconception that because the GC shell is lighter that it is better than a GD shell ? IMO there is good weight and a GD will be quicker than a GC ?
