Unhappy Hammer and Tongs

Hi peoples.

Ok well after going over everything I cannot for the life of me figure out whats going on with my boost level. I am currently running at a peak level of 9PSI and usually sits around 8PSI. I have no Idea why as not much has changed... Its got a PROCHIP and used to run a 17.40PSI and now I get a rather pathetic boost. Any advice on what to check and best options to get this fix as cheap as possible.

MY98
PROCHIP
std turbo.
Pod CAI.

To me it sounds like its in limp (safe) mode, I would get yourself down to someone with a select monitor!!!!

if it feels like it spikes *at all* when you first get to boost.... i'd be saying the problem lies somewhere within your vacuum lines or similar.

Thanks guys.

Ok it’s not spiking at all and I replaced all the vacuum hoses from around the turbo and put in some copper T pieces so the hoses are good. I’m thinking it’s more so what WRC 22B is suggesting with the limp mode because of its linear boost. Will seek help with this matter.

The check engine light should come on when it's in limp mode.

try bypassing the factory boost control solenoid... then use a bleed valve to up boost to see if this is the problem.. a mate of mine with my98 had probs with his
