Default RMS Exhaust

Hi,

I have just booked my MY05 wrx in at RMS for a cat back exhaust with cannon muffler (magnaflow). They tell me it shouldnt be too noisy. So, I was just wondering if anyone has had this exhaust fitted and can comment on noise levels/in car drone etc?

Oh, and the exhaust will be angled not straight. Is that too ricy?

Shouldn't be bad at all just being a cat back.

FYI, RMS quoted $1750 for a TBE and said any ECU mods were *not* required as the ECu will self learn.

MMS don't do cat backs, only turbo backs. They quoted $1925 fitted, plus recommended a EcuTek 2 (for $1595) and a fuel pump ($380).

I only want a cat back for the sound and limited effect on my warranty.

I will vouch for RMS until I die.

I had a full 3" Exhaust made by them including up pipe.
As I said in a previous thread, My MY01 was fine with the standard ECU, it gave better power in the 2500-3000 range, sounded wicked and loved it.
The noise did get to me, however I am a special case where 1000+KM per week was no problem for me to do very very often.

I have already been in contact with that seller. But have decided to go for a brand new system instead.

Cheers.

To take full advantage of the exhaust, it would be best to get an ECU remap.

Adding a "cat" back exhaust is altering the operating parameters of flow that the ECU is expecting. Although i doubt you'll have any real issues with just cat back, if it were the other case (TBE Exhaust) some ECU alterations to the "load" scaling would help.

Pete.

Yeah, thats what I understood (reading here and other forums). Its also partly the reason I am sticking with a diff back exhaust and not full TBE.

Thanks.
