Been there, no joy. |
if your talking about the toothed idler and the 2 smooth ones all you need to do is soak it in de greaser or something that will eat away the crap. i have done plenty of timing belts on subaru's and have never had a problem getting the pullies of with a 3/8s ratchet, if all else fails get a braker bar on there.

Serious!?
They're not supposed to be that tight (about 40nm of torque on the bolts when fitting).. but I suppose over the years they do tighten up. Rattle gun? Not a home spec one either, a proper workshop one plugged into a big compressor with lots of air. Bit of penetrating fluid (WD40) or a light touch with a blow torch to release the bolt. |
Bigger breaker bar!
