Default Auto I/C spray switch

I've done a bit of a search on the forums and with Google but I can't find the answer I'm looking for, so I'm sorry if this has been asked before.

I've got hold of a auto I/C spray switch which I plan on fitting. When I pulled out the blanking piece in the dash it is already holding a fitting with wiring that will match the auto switch. Now my question is, is this plug and wiring there for an auto spray switch? Or is it there for another purpose?

I've attached a picture below of the wiring and plug. Also this is a ADM my06 STI and the blanking piece is located between the manual spray and the cruise control switch.

I don't really want to just plug it in and try as I don't know what it will do, so if anyone can shed some light on this it would be much appreciated.

Justin.

I'm not 100% sure what your existing wiring is there for, but on a wrx, that middle spot is used for the front fog lamps.

Could it just be a "dummy" plug placed there on assembly, that (for whatever reason) is not connected to anything? (Since the Sti does not have front fog lamps)

I thought this could be why it is there, but the wires are connected and it provided power to the switch. From what I've been able to find out, the switch when wired to a JDM STI connects to the ecu and is automated via that. So as a guess, being the ADM STI the ecu doesn't have this function but the wiring is still there. This is only guessing though.
