Default BOV install

hi all bit of newbie, first turbo car, but currently wrecked (bought that way, not my fault, i no wat ur thinking lol)

ne wayz bak on topic, my 99 wrx is completely stocka, just enquireing where/how u fellas installed ur bov's, my m8s gotta 180 with it on intake pipe i think but no doubt wrong, he thinks wrx's r bit different :S, hes under belief they go on cooler pipe.... but i'm not sure, can they go on intake pipe, pref the one between turbo and cooler as is underneath the cooler and out of site from unwanted eyes

pls help/laugh ect...

you need the flange whch like a triangle shape. For your model i think it is attached to a pipe near yor cooler.

flange, pipe?? still confussed:S lol

some one told me u can just unbolt the stock plumback with new one? that work?? and wheres that located??

pictures of ur engine bays wld be helpfull

Go to your local mechanic - for the 20 minutes it takes him - he'll prolly charge u $30 - well worth the time/effort/embarassment

get a WRX stealth FX BOV that is purpose built to fit the intercooler on the rex

not sure if the bov triangle from a my01 is same as 99 maybe someone can help there
but ill prob have a bov u can have for $60 Turbo XS atmospheric with triangle stright bolt on. and just close off the return valve. just got to confirm if triangle size is the same

hey all thanxs let us know bout that tri angle fitment guide ...

had a pm from a guy thta seems to know wat hes on about, not saying u guys don't he rekons get a hybrid as car will run rich n cause engine damage in long run with a 100% atmo

Not the same. They both have a triangle flange, but they are different shapes and sizes.

An atmo BOV will cause your engine to run rich, and this wont damage anything at all, apart from the cat converter in the long run....your car running rich will chew a lot of fuel and make less power.

Anyone who knows what they are talking about will recommend you keep the stock BOV, because its the best option in regards to engine performance. If you wanna go with the wanky atmospheric BOV, then your on your own when it comes to choice...but I highly recommend any of the Jap ones IE HKS, Apexi

This is good advise-i advise you to re-read what Balistic has written, i have been down this path....with two different makes of car...and both times came to the same conclusion.
