Do you need a re-tune if you install a 3 port BCS ?
I asked the question of the tuner who did my Foz a while back. His answer was yes absolutely. Anyone with knowledge or experience care to chime in on the subject ?
|
Yes.
You don't need to necessarily alter the tune, but you need to alter the rom to make use of the 3-port. |
yep that's what Martin told me in a nut shell
|
Absolutely! We had to rescale my boost settings on the dyno to get my MAC valve working.

Without a tune it will overboost and spike like crazy.
The MAC 3 port valves usually require about 30% less duty cycle to reach target boost compared to the stock 2 port. Also you might have to reduce your turbo dynamics (closed loop) tables as well. |
thanks boys that answers my question well.
This should be noted by those in the GB for Grimmspeed BCS |

This should be noted by those in the GB for Grimmspeed BCS
It was mentioned twice in the OP of the GB so I hope everyone read it and is aware of it before ordering one. PS:what did you edit in the thread yesterday? :D
where is the GB dave? i'm keen as mustard
It's here: http://www.perth-wrx.com/vb/showthread.php?t=37852 But it's now closed, however I will be doing another one soon so once my Vendor status is confirmed keep an eye out for these plus many other goodies. :D |
