Default stripped nuts

Hey all,

Getting my engine out at the moment and im having a problem, basicly the nuts that hold the engine down to the cross member just behind the gearbox are fairly stripped.

They still have a little bit of a lip on them, so what ive done so far is sprayed them with some WD40 and let it sit (letting it sit overnight), this is the last thing i have to do before i can get the engine out, does anyone have any idea on how to get these 2 nuts off easily, or the best way it can be done?

Any help will be much appreciated.

If the captive nuts are stripped then they will have to be replace anyway, last time I had this I just used a bit of leverage whilst turning the bolt until it worked free.

There is two engine mounts left and right, the nuts are on the under side of the engine crossmember to get the motor off the xmember. If these are really stuffed , there is two bolts holding the metal plate to the engine mounts, undo these.
all ways use a impact socket as it drives on the flats, not a standard socket found in your every day socket set as you have more chance to stuff ( round ) the nut. This is a must for the turbo nuts.

If all the fails call your mother..... she may not be able to help but in return she will think its nice you called her.

As seagull has said, use single hex sockets.

belt an imperial sacarafical socket over the top of the nut/bolt then remove.

then invest in rattle sockets.

I passed out at my sister's place once and the bitch put that shit on one of my eyebrows. Lucky I woke just as she finished or I would have lost it...
