If that was the worst day of your life you have been fortunate to have led such a wonderfull and charmed life. I think that maybe a coolant leak and a f*cked clutch is unlucky or maybe well deserved depending on how you drive. My advice to you would be go out and by a Loto ticket.

Gearbox.. I thought we were talking about clutches?

Can you put it into any gears?
When you depress the clutch while the cars running does it engage?

If you did the box you'd know about it so I guess we can assume you have. Shouldn't need a new clutch. SH STi 5 speed would be about 1-1500k can't see labour being $1100. MMS can get those box's in & out pretty quick.

H/Duty Clutch would easily kill stockers gbox's.... If you end up having to spend $$$ on the gearbox i would suggest going PPG Gearsets, stronger than the stock stuff.

If it's a clutch (not that it sounds like it at this point) RMS can do ya one for less than a grand easy.... infact just about all workshops should be able to do an excedy or equivelent 9 puck for around the $1k mark... and they aren't hell on your gearbox either!

Good luck with it man, no one around here likes to hear of a WRX in trouble unless your numberplate is [JEALOUS]. But that story is for another day.

AGREED.

Blown gearboxes and clutches are fairly common problems in WRX's so no need to feel alone

Sure its a PITA but as the others have said RMS, MMS etc should all be able to sort it out without any hassles.

Just remember the old saying "If it has tits or tyres, its going to cost money". Certainly very true
