ej's are interference motors yeah ?
Just got home to be told by my olds that the daily "wont start" and that a mobile mechanic has told them its the timing belt.
If I recall correctly, this means if the belt breaks its bent all the valves? Its a 96 Gen2 with a ej22. |

sohc engines are safe to break timing belts.
hence my advise is to never bother servicing the timing belt if the car is a grunter. |
yeah it is a grunter.
got it at auctions 1.5 years ago, was mint, then got fucked on by hail, so now its my olds daily hack. still good to know I dont need to junk it. |
