Default lowering 2004 wrx

hey guys

I need advice on lowering my car with king springs.
iv got a turbo back exhaust, the front splitters and front lip. iv seen a couple of wrx's with ultra low king springs and i really like the way they look, but the only thing holding me back is scarping the exhaust a lot
please help what other heights will look just as good?

thank you

yeah like i said in the other thread, exhaust shouldnt scrape your front lip will be the worry.

Just take care when you go over bumps and up drive ways.

I also have an 05 wrx with a lip and lowered with coils, probley a tad lower then your springs so you should be fine.

Why king springs and not Whiteline or Eibach etc

I had them in my GC8 it looked good but ride quality was shit (my sierra was better) and started to sag as well, removed and put stocks back in.

Im glad someone said it.

Rexspec, if you are going down the lowering route, try to replace dampers as well, not just the springs. (They should be a match for each other). Im not pushing the coilover line, (however much I love them), but there are far more reputable spring/damper combo's, that can give you the look you want, combined with good performance as well.

Brent.

It might look cool being slammed however it does effect the handling performance of the vehicle. If you lower too far you'll need a roll centre kit to compensate.

I think you definitely need to speak with a suspension shop like Wheels World or Wilkinson Suspensions.

+1 whs^^^^

I have super lows in my car (thankyou mr previous owner ) trust me when I say they do not inspire confidence (or should I say, the confidence I would like) under hard cornering (even with whiteline goodies added)....hence why they are going soon-ish for something much cooler

You would not want to go lower than 20mm on stock struts if you do not want to compromise handling (will still look nice, wont be that "slammed" look but the car will still handle properly).

As sleepR said, if you want to go lower than 20mm, you need to find shocks that match the spring (more $$$ though)

im pretty sure i have super lows (never looked at the box) which came with the car when I bought it, I had my exhaust on and front lip and side splitters. I took it very slowly at first till i learnt the height of the lip to the ground which was a whole 10cm and had no problem with the exhaust at all, but like everyone else has said, the lip is going to be your problem.
1 word of advice, if you go on a hills run, remove the lip for the day, or you will end up having to replace yours like I am with mine atm.
