Default Side feed/top feed?

Hi guys. Just wondering, is it true that there is 2 different types of sidefeed injectors for the wrx?
I was told they went from side feed in the early models up to '98, then changed to top feed for the bugeye, then changed again to a different type of side feed for the later models.

Is this true, and is there a certain name/model/number etc for each type?

Churz.

Is there anyway of telling the difference between all types of side feed, as I was thinking of upgrading, but am cautious as to what ones I actually need.

I have '98 wrx.
