Not sure if srs.
What are you achieving by changing gear that high in the rev range?
You know peak power and torque are 1000+ rpm below that yeah?

It's called saving your motor?

Or do you think that red section on the tacho means go faster until the car converts into a 20,000rpm F1 engine...?

rev limiter in 2.5L is around 7200rpm.

Umm...it's called a rev limiter and it's there to protect your poor little engine from people who have an extremely heavy right foot (like you?)...change at 5500 to 6000 and you will be getting the best out of it.....and as an added bonus you won't break it...

rofl, remind me never to buy a car you have owned.

meatbag 27-05-2011 07:45 AM

roflcopter.

This shall be interesting. Although it is Friday.

Your avatar shows a pig which has the 2.5l They hit max power well before their indicated redline. Going past 6000 is just making you go slower and hurting your engine.

When you blow it up, please do let us know

Taking bets on how long until "my car makes a dok dok noise, instead of a dak dak noise"...

At the same level of awesomeness as dragging a car and almost smashing into a house then blaming the brakes?
