Default MY 05 WRX struts

Ok I've done a search but have not found an answer to my question. The struts in my car are stuffed(sticky). I've rang up 3 people for prices. 2 of them gave me a price to replace them with new ones. I spoke to John from wheels world and he told me I could not just swap them but need either the same ones from Subaru or go for coil overs. I like to believe the 1st two as that was the cheaper option but feel that John has had good dealings with the Subaru and will know what he is on about. Can any one please confirm? I don't plan to race or do track days so coil overs are not needed in that regard. I hope to go past John on Monday so he can have a look.

(I hope that is the common name for them)

Depends on what exactly you mean by stuffed...are they inverted struts? I got mine dismantled, greased & reassembled when they were making noise and had no problems since...otherwise source a second hand set from someone installing coilovers, or buy some DMS (=

That wasn't a U-turn! It was two consecutive right hand turns.

Or go to Repco and buy some aftermarket new ones to suit your car.
