Not exactly what i wanted to hear.... considering i was planning on putting her up for sale soon...

Will have to wait and see what Rob and the boys at the Wok tell me come thursday

You sure its not near the back of the engine? Put your clutch in and see if the noise changes or goes away. I hard night of driving you can heat up the flywheel and warp it and the when the clutch is out the thing rattles rather loud like a blown commodore

... i dont have the car with me to test (it's sitting at my parents place since i drove it there) but come to think of it... as soon as i changed gears the noise would disappear.

Similarly at decent enough RPM the sound would disappear. This actually makes a little sense. However i'll try not to get my hopes up.

Thanks heaps for your input man! It's definately helped settled the nerves a little bit. Really dont want to be forking out for a rebuild or new engine just now :P

Ended up being a Big End Bearing, thanks for the boys at Speedworks for the prompt diagnosis. Now onto the banks to get some money and open up my options.
