MY99 Air Filter

Hi All,

I just went to Repco to buy an Air Filter. They gave me the filter RAF139 (same as Ryco A1426) and that is the one listed for the WRX MY99.
However, my air filter is about 3cm smaller than this one. This air filter is 31cm, while the one that's in my car is approx 28cm.
What could be the reason for this??

Adi

*edit* Just checked on K&N site, and stock filter is 279mm. So Ryco has a wrong filter for WRX

The air filter is also same as the Nissan S14/S15 200SX air filter.

the reason for this is you should have got a apexi air filter :p

The reason for not getting an Apexi is coz of no retune :P

Thanks for all of your responses guys, I'll go and get a A360.

Extra air from the pod filter + TBE exhaust (to be fitted), and no extra fuel...I don't know, but not willing to risk it.

A pod filter on a MY99/GC8 with TBE or no TBE is not going to send you into a world of pain trust me I know plenty of people who have this setup including myself.

Yes a retune would be fantastic - will require an aftermarked EMS however ( Cant just retune the GC8's as far as I know. )

Its the same with the TBE - you can get it.. it will help and will give you a power gain and can be done with stock ECU - same with a number of things like fuel pump etc... A retune / new computer & Tune would be epic and is recomended but not required.

Excuse my spelling I've just finished night shift.
