They should last the life of the engine, eg, as long as they are not detonated or dusted, they will last as long as regular pistons.
Remember, 207's have forged pistons, and there is no specific differences to maintenance for those vehicles.
good point, however this engine was running 27 psi
You didn't say it had no compression...
I stand by my previous statement, whether the engine is 'built' or not, if they aren't taken out of the safe zone, they will last as long as any other engine part.
No i didnt, the question was more about lifespan than what has actually happened in my engine.
It randomly dropped 1 cylinder.....for good.
engine is coming out on friday, so i hope to have the answer to this.

forged pistons in high boosted engines do not have a huge lifespan if you are looking at reliability - but this is mainly in race applications.

A proper race motor doesn't get stripped down and replace rings, pistons etc for fun it is to ensure the reliability - also many people will tell you depedant on how the car is warmed up and how much fuel there is on cold start will affect the longevity of forged pistons dramatically - but that is more of the old wifes tale that proven fact, however alot of those types of tales do have some merit.

I would say for the cost of new pistons change them as you no doubt know it costs alot more to fix if they fail at full noise and 30psi
