Hybrid Drift Spec FMIC kit
Anyone using Hybrid FMIC ? Thinking of getting one. I heard its a direct bolt on. Do I need to cut my bumper and make room for it or does it just sits nicely ?
Looking at $1100 for the entire kit. Looks like I'll be joining the turbo lag gang soon. Performance mods so far are: VF22 (1.3bar/19psi) STI 550ccs Ecutek Custom tune Bosch Fuel pump 500-600hp (unknown) Lane did the tuning and its currently rated 179.5kw. I'm looking at a modest 10kw increment with the FMIC. Last edited by AC Schnitzer; 24-03-2006 at 12:19 AM. |

not sure about the drift spec
but yea.. hybrid fmic kit for my99 cost $799 for the entire kit from motorquip in carousel. its direct bolt on yea, but you do have to remove ya factory airbox and trim ya bumper for it to fit. cypher quoted me $400 for the installation. tenagah workshop special $1300 fitted excluding pod filter kit and bov adapter xspeed quoted me $1290 fitted excluding pod filter kit and bov adapter |

By the way I'm using Apexi Power intake, will that get in the way ? Are there any other accessories I need to purchase in order to fit the kit ? Tried searching but I couldn't find much info on them. I also noticed modyourcar.com is selling for $1099 but the info conflicts with powerdigger.com because they claim the genuine in/outlet measures 3" however modyourcar indicated 2.25". |

i believe the hybrid kits are 3" so modyourcar sounds a lil dodgy there.
apexi should work fine.. no probs there, cos tenagah recommended me this apexi kit that comes with the apexi power intake and just and adapter and a mount to secure it. i'll say you only need an adapter to fit ya bov somewhere. anyone please correct me if i'm wrong. |

=) you're welcome.
i was gonna get myself a fmic, but then i need to get the air filter kit and bov adapter made and to get it fit, kinda went over the budget for an intercooler. so i decide to go for a hyperflow tmic. |

I've seen the hyperflow before. Its thick as hell. How many kw did you squeeze out of it ? |

yea, i've seen it in darren's car.. he's got well over 200kW at the wheels and the tmic is still good for it, maybe that water spray kit helps too.
the tmic isn't cheap yea, but it turns out to be cheaper than the fmic after installation and mods that needs to be done for the fmic to fit. i'd be happy with 200ish kW at the wheels. and i'll have less lag with the tmic. |

I guess thats 1 way to see it.
I don't think I'll ever see 200kw in this lifetime ... |
