Last time I was at collie I was lapping on STD Subaru brakes all round (brembo's) STD fluid as delivered, STD pads as delivered and STD rotors as delivered with 100mm hubs and r comps. Anyone who was there can attest I wasn't holding back and I only got the slightest fade after around 4 laps. Not knowing your driving style one thing that you should remember is good times down there come down to smoothness and corner speed not BLAT.

Do this test. Drive up a wide quiet road or the freeway at night and swerve side to side several times without touching the brakes, get some cornering forces happening. Then see if you get the long pedal. If so, it's definately knock off.[/QUOTE]

Yep i definitely get knock-off with 5x100 with brembo's+DBA4000. Would going to a ligher rotor help at all, eg: DBA5000?

Dave i get bad brakes everytime i track my car to. I also think its a combo of pad knockoff and also crappy fluid with air bubbles.

I just bought this stuff. Will be going in on monday ready for track day on the 18th. Cheap for good fluid!!

Also i have learnt to stab my brakes then release and stand on em again. Helps shove the pads back and get more pressure.

Probably not the best method for keeping your car balanced.

Re: brakes - I ran 8 hot laps in a row at Collie with Project Mu SCR rotors & HC+ pads before they started getting mushy - Brembo fluid too (I think).

Agreed! But better than over shooting cos my pedal goes to the floor. Stab them when going straight just to bring the pads back inline.
