Problems Starting
Just got the Autronics in the car yesterday, today the car is having problems starting, sometimes it may even take 20-30 seconds of turning the key, this getting to be really annoying and for 3 g's its a bit more annoying.
Went out to Hyperdrive today who installed it and they said that perhaps its problems with compatability with the brant. Has anyone had similar problems at all or anyone got any advice, "Lumpy" said that he would give Autronics a call on monday to ask if they had had anything like this before. But yeh guys any advice would be great Cheers ADAM

Any aftermarket ecu will require fine tuning in order to get cold starts, and everything else "perfect".
....saying that, it is to be expected, as Hien said. This is partly the reason why I had enough of my motec. I ripped it out and sold it. Ecutek will be my weapon of choice next time. My advice is take it back, go and see Ken and Glenn and leave it with them for a few days so they can fiddle with it. They should be able to get it rectified no problems. It will just take time. The more tuning/resolution (and therefore money) you put into the ecu, the better. |

welcome to the world of aftermarket ecu's.
Try this - turn key to on, wait for fuel pump to prime, wait for the CEL to flash twice, then crank it over - this worked everytime on my MY00 with PnP. |

I forked out hard money for a Motec M800 PnP, had it installed and tuned etc. It ran ok, but then I drove another car with similar mods, except with an ecutek, and thats what possessed me to sell it (among other factors as well). I'm not saying aftermarket ecu's such as these are sh!thouse, they're far from it. However, they do need more time spent on them in order to get them "perfect". Like I said, the only way to get it rectified is to take it back. Ken and Glenn are top blokes and will do the right thing by you.... |

you can always sell the autronic at $1700. i'm sure someone might want to buy it secondhand |

Really really well besides, much more torque, you can really feel that it has a lot more power down low and it has really eliminated that flat spot, well worth it if we can fix the cold start issue
