Exedy clutches..

Hey guys i'm after a heavy duty clutch for my MY00 5 speed that my misses uses as a daily as well as being something I like using at the drags and track fairly often.

Has anyone used the heavy duty cushion button kit from exedy? (7123hcdb)
Is there a benefit using this clutch over a heavy duty organic?

I found some posts from 5 years ago or so saying the HDCB is bad news for a stock box. Maybe the organic is the way to go.

If you are running a stock GC8 5 speed and are launching it at the drags chances are the box will fail.

Yeah its no doubt gonna happen one day. I'll put a 6 speed in when that happens. Its far from stock so its already putting pressure on the box

Lol @ putting a button clutch in. Bbai gearbox.

Full face organic is what you want.

Button clutches suit one car and one car only.. old Mazda rotaries.

A full face organic as mentioned should fit the bill perfectly. My Exedy Sports Tuff works really well IMHO.

I ran a 3 puck brass clutch for 8 years on a 5 speed and didn't bust the gearbox, full face organics are pussies :-)
