Engine Flush - Good or bad

Hi,

Anyone here use a good quality engine flush like Amsoil or Liqui Moly before oil change say every 50,000 or 100,000 kms in their subaru?

Is this a good practice ?

yes, we do them on almost every service, regardless of k's

i'd recommend subaru upper engine cleaner before dropping the oil too

i have got wynn's engine flush but yet to use it. will look into it when i do my major 200k service. normally do a service every 5k as norm, so i guess engine flushing every 5k would be a bit over kill?

Hi all, Sorry I don't mean the Subaru upper engine cleaner. I actually mean the engine oil flush where you pour this stuff into your sump & let car idle for 20 min & then replace oil & filter.

Not necessary unless you've gone way past the scheduled service interval or you have a RS Liberty EJ20G with tappet noise.

fill the sump with diesel/kero, run for 2 minutes, drop.

done.

Showing my ignorance but wouldn't that be damaging or the potential of damaging the engine Tuna?

light oils, not suggesting the car be taken for a drive.

So you just add like half a litre to your sump of prewarmed oil? Then run for 2 mins?
