Is it making the smell all the time?

Mine stinks after a hard launch or when riding it in reverse up a driveway or something but that's about it.

If it's doing it all the time, I am guessing it would be on it's way out.

i did that once when i first got my car er.. 4 and half years ago, after about 3 days the smell will dissappear ,and my clutch is still fine up untill now.
as long as the clutch still grips.

^^ What he said

The first time I did it I smelt it for ages and thought the clutch was shagged. Still grips fine now although I try not to launch too much in my fat ass GDB.

Time to get a clutch - After some more go-fast-goodies.

So basically in saying that then basically because its still gripping and doesnt seem to be slipping i shouldnt need to replace the clutch?

If its slipping under load - whether it be a hillstart or similar and persists (day or two) with the smell, then get it looked at...Otherwise drive it like normal.

And if you take it to be looked at check the fluid level.....just in case

I think you'll find because you run an organic faced clutch, that it will "recover" somewhat from a roasting. I don't reckon you have to replace it unless it's slipping badly or develops a bad shudder (warped the flywheel). I've done it to my clutch several times and still going strong.

Yeah it'll be fine, did the same to mine on the last cruise, it stank a bit the next day as well but it's fine now, I think I read somewhere a couple of weeks ago it can actually do them good by burning all the old crap off them.
