If you want to take it to a mechanic, go to bunnings first and get this high temp tape. Its rubber and perfect for closing off small holes on the hoses (temporarily). Its rubber, you stretch it and wrap it around the hose. I carry it in the boot at all times as I had to use it once on the power steering hose.

Otherwise, you could try heating the hose in some hot water so its more flexible.

soaking the hose in boiling water will make it supple & easier to bend to get it on there ;) prick of a job though, had one of these in my garage for ages but gave it away with the oil cooler when i sold it last month :(

I had a look last night and unless you undo the 10mm bolt that secures the pipe it was always going to be a nightmare to get on.
Going out after work to rectify this and recieve the mechanics universal currency.......booze:D
