Default Coolant Pipe

Hi Guys, My GC8 99MY WRX has burst a coolant pipe, its the small 4inch 90 degree pipe near to the sump. is this a manufacturers only part or can I pick one of these up at my local Repco? Also how much coolant will I need when I top it all back up again?

Is there a fix that I can do to get her to a garage?

Was hoping to get to the cruise today but time has just gone, so gonna focus on fixing the pipe today.

anyone got one of these pipes? can picture message if needs be

Repco should be able to sell you a 11mm ID Z-pipe coolant hose. Its a universal hose with 2 bends in it that you can cut to make it fit in that location.
Just make sure the pipe diameter you need is actually 11mm.

Bought both top and bottom hoses from Repco for mine recently when my radiator cracked. They had the exact ones for the make of wrx which fitted fine and was about $32 all up with clamps.
Coolant wise is about 6.5ltrs

IMHO, your best bet is to replace both hoses while you have the coolant dropped, and replace with genuine Subaru coolant. It's not much more expensive than top of the range stuff.

If your not sure of your previous brand of coolant, make sure you flush your radiator and lower inlet to try to get as much out as possible, as mixing different make coolants can be damaging.

also personally i would be changing the 2 large hoses on the top and bottom of the radiator if going to drop the coolant anyway. unless that is your large pipes are still new... i will be getting these silicone items very soon when mao gets back from overseas as im changing the coolant. also getting a cusco 1.3 bar radiator cap, evo r 71 degree thermostat and zero sports radiator shroud. would also be looking into their fan controller with digital temperature readout /csb

ok so how he F@#K has this turned out to be a bastard of a job to replace one pipe!
Old pipe off, new pipe cut to length, but no where near flexible enough to fit it the damn pipes are to close together, surely theres an easy enough way to do it,drawn first blood, second blood etc etc, im boarderline putting the old pipe back on with a blotch of glue to patch up the hole and trying to limpo it to a garage.

has anyone changed the small pipe before? is there an easier way?

Does anyone fancy helping a newb out and coming to have a look or talking me through it?

0403432529 next step is petrol and matches..... ive only had the car 5 minutes!

WOOOOOOOOOOSSSSSSAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!
