Default wrx ecu retro fit

just throwing this out there ive read more and more of how versitile a current and even slightly older wrx ecu,s are and i realy enjoy the factory feel over arfter market ones

can they be retro fitted and work accordenily in to older combos, or am i pushing up the wrong avenue

WHat year model ECU do you want to put into what year model car?
Forget anything 06 onwards going into anything earlier. Its all drive by wire and requires a different throttle body, accelerator pedal, and even manifold I think.
SO need to know what year is going into what, it may be cheaper to just buy aftermarket and get it tuned.

Do you know what ECU is in your car?
Seeing as it has the early WRX engine in it, you may find it is already running a WRX ECU. Best to put your head under the dash and confirm what you have first.

If you have a gen 1 liberty then I would suggest to find a v2 sti ecu.. This is a very common upgrade if you don't want to go aftermarket but want more power.

It should be mounted under the dash, below the steering wheel. There is a plastic panel there that needs to come off and you should see it there.
