wrx ecu retro fit

just throwing this out there ive read more and more of how versitile a current and even slightly older wrx ecu,s are and i realy enjoy the factory feel over arfter market ones

can they be retro fitted and work accordenily in to older combos, or am i pushing up the wrong avenue
