EJ205 is open deck and EJ207 is semi closed deck

What's the difference between an open and semi closed deck? Better power? Reliability?

For starters, just going by the photos I'd assume the cylinder walls are a bit stronger due to the extra support.

Semi-closed has more support around the top of the bores which helps prevent distortion at high power levels.

So besides that, there is nothing else that differentiates the two blocks?
