Default Engine Troubles.

Hi all,

I dont have much knowledge of the Subaru turbo engine, but certainly love driving one when its working properly!

I seem so be having some sort of drop out problem with the turbo/engine.
I hit about 4500rpm and it start to suck too hard and doesn't seem to like it much! (shakes a lil and little to no power!)

WTF?

Any ideas guys?
It seems to be fine some days, but is happening more and more!

More info on the car please?

Tuned?
Aftermarket ECU?
Exhaust?
Turbo?
BOV?
Intercooler?
etc etc.

If it feels like you hit a brick wall, that would be boost cut.

hey mate,

sounds like intake manifold gasket causing the shaking and extra suction

need that fixed asap. the extra air intake will be causing loads of other issues.
the fact its happening more and more really means you should get it checked before it becomes highly expensive.
i Recommend maximum motorsport in malaga - there diagnostics guy Daniel is really good.

either that or the tune is out, or your running on 3 cylinders. depending on what your running of course... could be something simple as stuffed vaccuum hose...bit of leak here and there... or your boost solenoid is stuffed.

Cheers

1) Stop driving it/trying to go past 4500.
2) Take it to a workshop as even if we manage to somehow figure out what is wrong with your car (which we can't just off what you are saying), then you cannot fix it yourself anyway.
3) Take it to a workshop.
4) Again take it to a workshop, here you go, the Perth-WRX forum has compiled a list for you: http://www.perth-wrx.com/vb/mechanic...workshops.html
5) Your welcome

In other words, it could be one of about 70 trillion things that you wouldnt be able to fix without taking it to a workshop.

6) read my list above

LOl seen you beat me by like 2 minutes on the repost

check everything for leaks

intake manifold / bov gasket and check your piping.

ps - when was it serviced last - warmer weather might be throwing your tune out too.

running rough - BOV - check it
