A couple of times my BRANT system (MY05) has decided to start beeping and shut down the engine with the alarm cutting sick while cruising along at 100kph..! I think it may have something to do with the seat sensor as it seems to happen after a nice bump or groove in the road.

sometimes mine cuts out at around 1:40 when i drive off in the mornings occasionally - just turn off > pull key out > kill TT > put key back in > ignition> key in code> restart > and drop back into gear and its good for the rest of the day - im 80% sure it the seat belt clip sensor - a while back it got really bad and was draining the battery - solution > park on hill & leave unlocked haha, but eventully got around to re soldering the keypad and connections. And haven't had any trouble with it since except for the seat belt thing.

Interesting read this has been! I think my MY03 used to have brant system but has been removed. Lately I've been thinking about reinstalling... But now I'm not too sure! All they seem to be is a hassle!

Mine was playing up a little while in Melbourne.

Replaced the battery backup with some new NIMH batteries from Jaycar and it's been good ever since.

30249293402384092348th thread on brant.

Just remove it and get some other government approved alarm system in it.
