my suggest, better turbo then the TD04, get a Vf23 or Vf22, I'm a top mount person recently fitted a 04 STI cooler, was well worth it. i recommend doing sway bars, end links, ALK, if you have the money, change the diff's talk to mao about getting a 1.5way at the front and a 2 way at the rear or the way i want to go is 1 way at front, and 1.5 at the rear.

I think when people say increase lag, they are referring to decreasing throttle response (the two are not the same i know, but this is internet :)).
As for the understeer, I would definitely go 24mm rear 22mm front. This is great on a daily with maybe a tinny bit oversteer, and yet it's a lot more solid than stock. I personally think that going 24 rear and leaving the front as stock might create too much oversteer, though I cannot say that definitely as I haven't had the experience with that setup. Adi |

For the sake of the most obvious, I am going to say no. Lag is the time it takes for a turbo to produce positive boost pressure. Throttle response is an entirely different thing. People hear some forum guy spout "lag" and then take it as truth. redlib has a good piece of advice - do a rear diff at the least if you can - will transform the car. |

I am trying to keep the mods ad cheap as I can so spending big coin on diffs is out of the question for now. |
Should be ideal. 2nd rs had one with a fmic, wasn't laggy at all.
Adding a pfc and tune will further improve things. |

If you do a FMIC properly... Flipped cooler, pipes under the headlights, rotated compressor cover... fuck all lag over a TMIC.
A China spec kit with 10 meters of fully sick 3 inch pipes is going to suck hard. |

[/QUOTE] you wouldn't need to have an identical car to detect a difference, a similar car with the same block, heads, breathing mods and turbo from the same tuner would probably suffice and yes i should've used the term "throttle response" instead of "lag" |
What if one car is down 10psi on compression versus the other?
What if one has had the head gasket done, and the machining along with different head gaskets has raised the static compression? What if one has 2 degrees more timing than the other? All lead to massive differences I know you must think I am being a kunt, but I am just trying to be blunt about the misconceptions. |
